Kanosuke 2021 Second Edition is a Japanese single malt from Kanosuke Distillery, which stands by the shore at Fukiagehama beach in Kagoshima. The malt was unpeated and distilled in 2018, then matured for over three years, mainly in first-fill re-charred ex-bourbon barrels.
Around 5,000 bottles were filled at a natural cask strength of 57%.
The nose brings citrus, vanilla and honey, with a hint of lemon tea. Grapefruit leads the palate, alongside a sweet cinnamon note. The finish combines sweet fresh fruit and creamy vanilla, with a touch of dark chocolate bitterness.
