A single cask Japanese single malt from Kanosuke, distilled in 2018 and bottled in 2024 at 5 years old and 59% ABV. It is the official edition of the Chichibu Saitama Whisky Matsuri, the first time a Kanosuke has been chosen for the festival. The festival's executive committee selected the re-charred cask after visiting the distillery in Hioki, Kagoshima Prefecture, and 486 bottles were filled.
The nose offers green apple, pear and bubblegum sweetness, with vanilla custard, cereal, cinnamon and white pepper. The palate is creamy, with honey and fruit before cinnamon, clove and ginger. The finish is medium and drying, with spicy oak, dark chocolate and floral honey.
