Kanosuke – New Born 2018 Hyper Aged Early Japanese Whisky Spirit (20cl, 58%)

This is a Kanosuke Newborn, a single malt from the Kanosuke distillery in Hioki, Kagoshima, in a 20cl bottle. It is bottled at cask strength, 58% ABV. Newborn is the distillery's name for whisky in the early stages of its maturation. The spirit was distilled in February 2018 from unpeated English malt, fermented with the distillery's own yeast, and distilled in the first still before a second distillation in one of two re-distillation stills of differing design. It then spent eight months in the distillery's sea breeze-scented cellar. The distillery describes the result as sweet.
