Kanosuke – 5 Year Old Single Cask #20319 Whisky & Spirits Festival 2026 in Yokohama (70cl, 62%)

This is a five-year-old single cask Japanese single malt from the Kanosuke Distillery in Hioki City, Kagoshima Prefecture. It comes from cask #20319 and is bottled at a natural cask strength of 62% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The spirit was distilled in 2020, matured in a shochu cask and bottled in 2026, with 252 bottles filled. It was made for the Whisky & Spirits Festival 2026 in Yokohama, and the label carries a verse by Semimaru from the classical Ogura Hyakunin Isshu anthology. Kanosuke is run by Komasa Jyozo, a long-established Kagoshima shochu producer, which explains the use of shochu casks in its maturation.
