Kanosuke Artist Edition #005 (70cl, 50%)

Kanosuke Artist Edition #005 is a single malt from Kanosuke Distillery in Hioki, Kagoshima, bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. It is the fifth and final release in the limited Artist Edition series, which follows the Japanese Five Elements, and this one represents water. Label artwork is by Alexander Kori Girard. It combines three Mizunara-matured components: unpeated spirit, peated spirit, and Kanosuke single malt finished in Mizunara casks for around two years. A slow-dilution technique was used. The nose offers apple, caramel, vanilla, cinnamon bark, sandalwood and roasted tea. The palate has apricot, ginger, white peach, kumquat jam and light honey. The finish is honeyed, with citrus peel and measured peat.
