Kanosuke Collaboration Series 01 is a Japanese blended malt bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It comes from a cask exchange between Kanosuke Distillery in Kagoshima and Saburomaru Distillery in Toyama, and carries the theme 'Mellow meets Peated'.
Kanosuke's non-peated, bourbon-matured spirit forms the base, layered with Saburomaru's peated malt.
The nose balances sea breeze and peat with grapefruit, lychee, green apple, caramel and a hint of oak-fired smoke. The palate is rich and mellow, with honey, cinnamon, kumquat, clotted cream, vanilla, crème brûlée, poached pear, nutmeg and burnt toffee. The finish is creamy and gentle, ending on a clean citrus note.
