Kanosuke Crane & Sky #5 is a limited-edition single malt from Kanosuke Distillery in Hioki, Kagoshima, bottled for Whisky Talk Fukuoka 2025. It was distilled in 2019 and bottled in 2025 at 59% in a 70cl bottle, with 540 bottles produced. It is non-chill filtered.
The release uses whisky matured in a Manzanilla sherry cask, a dry style of sherry from around Sanlúcar de Barrameda in Spain.
The nose has orange peel, dried fruit, nuts and dry sherry, with a soft sweetness. The palate is smooth and fruit-forward, with saline notes, dry oak and a touch of spice. The finish is soft, with dry oak and nutty notes.
