Kanosuke – Distiller's Choice 2021 Single Cask #19250 (70cl, 55%)

This is a single cask Japanese single malt from Kanosuke, selected by master distiller Yoshitsugu Komasa as the distillery's first single cask release. It was distilled in May 2018 and bottled in November 2021 at 55% ABV, and it is one of 276 bottles. The whisky matured in a first-fill shochu rechar cask of American white oak, then was finished in a red wine cask. In the glass it is amber with a hint of red. The nose offers nuts, raisins and truffles. On the palate it is thick and spicy with firm tannins, and the finish carries the harmony of the red wine cask comfortably.
