Kanosuke – Distiller's Choice 2022 Hong Kong Edition Single Cask #17011 Sherry Butt (70cl, 58%)

This is a Japanese single cask malt from Kanosuke, bottled at 58% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is the second single cask for Asia, with a label on which a Japanese cartoonist has drawn a city in the country of export. Master Distiller Yoshitsugu Komasa chose a sherry butt for this release. The whisky was distilled in December 2017, aged for 4 years and 4 months and bottled in March 2022. It is one of 583 bottles, garnet in colour. The nose offers sherry, raisins, yellow peaches, milk chocolate and coffee. The palate is full of sherry, with deep berry sweetness and soft tannins, and the finish has citrus, subtle sweetness and some astringency.
