Kanosuke Hioki Pot Still 2024 Limited Edition Japanese Whisky (70cl, 55%)

Kanosuke Hioki Pot Still is the 2024 Limited Edition from Kanosuke Distillery in Kagoshima, bottled at 55% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is a Japanese-style pot still whisky made from malted barley and locally grown un-malted barley, distilled under vacuum pressure in stainless steel pot stills at the Hioki Distillery. It matures in a combination of new American white oak casks, ex-bourbon barrels and re-charred ex-shochu casks. It won Gold in the Pot Still category at the 2025 World Whiskies Awards. The nose has crème brûlée, new oak, apricots and fresh plums. The palate brings vanilla, caramel sauce, charred oak, cocoa and matcha, and the finish is oily with intense dark chocolate.
