Kanosuke – New Born 2020 Peated 24 Months White Oak (20cl, 58%)

Kanosuke New Born 2020 is a peated single malt from Kanosuke Distillery in Kagoshima, Japan, in a 20cl bottle at a cask strength of 58% abv. It was made with peated malt from the UK and distilled in August 2018. The spirit was run through the distillery's wash still, then the second distillation used the spirit still that gives more body. It matured for 24 months in white oak barrels in a storehouse by the sea. The nose offers cashew nut, pear, peach and vanilla. The palate is sweet and salty with peppermint and woodiness, and the finish brings pleasant peat followed by a bitter sweetness.
