Kanosuke – New Born 2020 Peated (20cl, 58%)

Kanosuke New Born 2020 Peated is a Japanese single malt made from peated malt brought in from the UK. It was distilled and filled into cask in August 2018, fermented with distiller's yeast and run through the distillery's wash still. For the second distillation, the distillery used the spirit still that gives more body. The spirit then matured for 24 months in white oak barrels before being bottled at a cask strength of 58%, here in a 20cl bottle. The nose brings cashew nut, pear, peach and vanilla. The palate is sweet and salty, with peppermint and woody notes, and the finish has a pleasant peatiness followed by a bitter sweetness.
