Kanosuke Single Malt 2022 Edition is a Japanese single malt bottled at cask strength, 59%, in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled between 2017 and 2019 and matured for three years.
The whisky was aged in a blend of casks: ex-Mellowed Kozuru shochu, ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry. The sherry casks complement the woody and fruity notes of the others.
The nose offers lemon tea, honey and rose florals, tart umeboshi plum and a lively touch of Japanese cinnamon. On the palate come dried red berries and cherries, a light bitterness of dark chocolate and coffee candy, and gentle spices. The finish is lingering, with sherry, fine wood and a bittersweet note.
