Kanosuke Single Malt 2026 Limited Edition is a Japanese single malt inspired by spring on the Fukiagehama coast in Kagoshima, bottled at 57% in a 70cl bottle.
The spirit comes from the distillery's three pot stills and is matured in ex-shochu, sherry, bourbon and red wine casks. For this release, bourbon-cask whisky finished in apple brandy casks and re-charred ex-shochu cask whisky finished in white wine casks are key parts of the vatting, alongside a small amount of peated whisky. Slow dilution gives a rounder texture.
The nose has orange blossom, apple peel, white grape and beach vitex. The palate brings vanilla, honey, yuzu paste and apple brandy, and the finish carries grapefruit, apple peel and a gentle saline note.
