Kanosuke Single Malt (70cl, 48%)

Kanosuke Single Malt is the flagship whisky of Kanosuke Distillery in Kagoshima, Japan, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It is made from lightly peated barley in three pot stills, and every stage from mashing to maturation takes place in Kagoshima. Maturation is mainly in re-charred American white oak casks that previously held the barrel-aged shochu Mellowed Kozuru. The whisky is non-chill filtered. The nose brings ripe citrus (karin), honey, banana, lemon tea and caramel. The palate has ginger honey and lightly smoked nuts. The finish is sweet and aromatic with a touch of bitterness, mild and long.
