Kanosuke Single Malt Artist Edition #005 (70cl, 50%)

This is the fifth release in Kanosuke's Artist Edition series, themed on Water within the Japanese Five Elements philosophy, Godai. It is a 50% single malt in a 70cl bottle, matured in Mizunara oak. At its heart is a malt from three Mizunara casks, vatted with a selection of unpeated and peated malts and then diluted slowly. The label artwork is by Alexander Kori Girard, drawing on his watercolour work. The nose offers apple, caramel, vanilla, Japanese cinnamon, sandalwood and roasted green tea. Apricot, ginger, white peach, kumquat jam and light honey lead the palate, and the finish is gently honeyed with citrus peel and balanced peat.
