This Karuizawa single malt was distilled in 1981 and matured for 35 years in a single bourbon cask, cask number 6478. It is the "Kumoi" bottling, and 367 bottles were produced.
The nose brings ripe tropical fruit, mango and papaya, with charred oak, vanilla cream and warm spice. The palate shows a strong bourbon influence of vanilla, cinnamon, toasted oak and candied citrus over underlying oak char.
The finish is long and warming, with vanilla, gentle spice and oak char fading into sweet citrus peel.
