A 15-year-old single malt from Kavalan in Taiwan, and the distillery's first release at this age. It was matured in Taiwan's hot, humid subtropical climate, which speeds up the interaction between spirit and wood.
The whisky is a small-batch blend of spirits aged in four types of cask: ex-Bourbon barrels, Oloroso sherry casks, Ruby port barrels and oak puncheons.
It is golden caramel in colour. The nose is typically described as caramel apple mousse, chocolate, walnut cinnamon rolls and buttered popcorn, with dried tangerine peel and plum. The palate offers bergamot, lemon, grapefruit, dried cranberries and longan, moving to dark chocolate and caramel walnut coffee mousse. The finish is long, with cinnamon spice, toffee and black dates.
