Kavalan Classic is a Taiwanese single malt whisky in a 75cl bottle, bottled at 40% ABV. It is distilled twice in copper pot stills from 100% malted barley at the Kavalan Distillery in Yilan County.
It carries no age statement. Warehouse temperatures in Yilan County can reach 42°C on the upper floors, which speeds up maturation compared with a typical Scottish warehouse.
The nose is bright tropical fruit, mainly mango, with honey, vanilla and delicate florals. The palate is creamy and full-bodied, with ripe mango, honey, warming spice and a little oak. The finish is long, with sweetness, gentle oak tannins and a citrus-tinged warmth.
