Kavalan – King Car Conductor Vatted Malt (75cl, 46%)

Kavalan King Car Conductor is a non-chill filtered Taiwanese vatted malt whisky, bottled at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It was the first expression released under the King Car name rather than the Kavalan label. The vatting combines pot-still malts distilled from 100% malted barley and matured in refill sherry casks, ex-bourbon barrels and eight other cask types, with a higher proportion of ex-sherry wood. The nose is tropical, with papaya, guava, pineapple and banana alongside coconut, honey and vanilla. The palate starts with honeyed caramel and vanilla, then turns to dense malt, winey sherry, cinnamon and black pepper, with a heavy mouthfeel. The finish is long and warming, with pepper and drying wood tannins.
