This Kavalan Peated Malt was distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2024, making it nine years old. It is presented at a cask strength of 53.2% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose opens with elegant smoke, then moves through slate, chalk, baked apple, tar and fresh grass, before turning saline with white rose and shortbread. On the palate it is saline at first, then reveals green tea, thyme, orange and smoked mackerel, ending on caramelised apples. The finish is rich and dense, with honey, roasted coffee and blueberry, followed by ashy smoke, maritime notes and hay.
