Kavalan – Classic Single Malt (70cl)

Kavalan Classic is a single malt from the Kavalan distillery in Yilan, Taiwan, in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was sited there for its plentiful supply of pure spring water, which flows through the Snow Mountain, and that water is credited with making the whisky fresh and clean with a silky smoothness. It is the distillery's flagship expression and shows its fruity character. It is described as an easy-drinking everyday whisky with more complexity than you might expect. The nose is rich and sweet, with ripe mango, apple, gently sour grapes and soft spice. Creamy vanilla and butter lead on the palate, followed by cinnamon sponge with light lemon cream, then mango and sweet red apple. The finish is medium in length, sweet and buttery, with fruit and soft spice.
