Kavalan – Concertmaster Port Cask Finish Single Malt (70cl, 40%)

Kavalan Concertmaster is a Taiwanese single malt whisky finished in port casks, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Kavalan takes its name from the 'flatland people', the indigenous tribes who first lived in the area. The distillery was built in 2005 and uses copper pot stills made in Scotland by Forsyths, with fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to cope with Taiwan's subtropical climate. That heat speeds up maturation. The warehouse holds 30,000 casks, stacked five high and tied together because of the risk of earthquakes in the region.
