Kavalan – Concertmaster Refill Casks, Sherry Finish (70cl, 40%)

Kavalan Concertmaster is a Taiwanese single malt, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It spends its first maturation in refill casks and is then moved into sherry casks to finish. The refill casks keep the spirit clean and fresh, while the sherry finish adds a deeper layer. Maturation in Yilan's warm climate speeds the interaction between spirit and wood. The nose is rich in vanilla and toffee, followed by dried fruit, nuts and tropical fruit. The palate is silky, with dark chocolate, raisins and a little spice, sweet without becoming heavy. The finish is long and gentle, with soft woody notes and light dried-fruit sweetness.
