Kavalan Concertmaster Sherry Cask is a single malt from Taiwan, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It follows the distillery's Port Cask release in the Concertmaster range.
The whisky is matured in American oak, then given a generous finish in a selection of Spanish sherry casks. Taiwan's warm climate speeds up maturation and cask influence.
In the tasting notes, the nose has dark berries, ripe plum and raisins over chocolate and warm baking spices. The palate is silky and sweet, with stewed fruit, toffee, cinnamon and a touch of nuttiness. The finish is long and warming, with dried fruit and gentle spice.
