Kavalan – Ex Bourbon Oak (75cl)

Kavalan Ex Bourbon Oak is a single malt Taiwanese whisky from the Kavalan distillery in Yilan County, which was established in 2005. It is sold in a 75cl bottle. The whisky is matured entirely in American white oak casks that previously held bourbon, with no sherry cask influence. American oak is lower in tannin and high in vanilla compounds, which lets the fruit character of the spirit come through. That spirit is shaped by the island's sub-tropical climate and mountain spring water. It is described as a vanilla and tropical fruit-led whisky, with caramel alongside.
