Kavalan King Car Conductor (46%)

Kavalan King Car Conductor is a whisky from the King Car Distillery in Taiwan, founded in 2005 in the Yuanshan region. It is the first whisky to carry the King Car name instead of the usual Kavalan label, and it is bottled at 46%. It is made with a higher proportion of ex-sherry casks and has a vivid amber colour. Taiwan's warm climate speeds up maturation, giving an angel's share of around 10%. The nose is rich, with vanilla, ripe oranges, apricots and lightly toasted oak, then marshmallow, herbs, fruit jam and toffee. The palate is warm and sweet, with honey, vanilla, oak and malt, and the finish brings honey, vanilla and a little pepper.
