Omar Bourbon Cask is a Taiwanese single malt matured in bourbon casks. It comes from Nantou Distillery, founded in 1978 in Nantou Hsien and owned by the state-run Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation. The subtropical climate in the mountains there leads to quick maturation.
The nose is fresh and light, with vanilla custard and white chocolate, mandarin and ripe pear, and a hint of tobacco leaf. The palate is light and sweet, with vanilla, oak, chilli and pimento, then milk chocolate, honey and caramel. The finish carries a touch of dried tropical fruit.
