This is a single malt from the Nantou Distillery in central Taiwan, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in Spanish ex-sherry casks and has no added colour, so its deep brass shade comes from the wood.
The distillery works with copper pot stills, and the whisky carries no age statement.
The nose combines longan honey, ripe mango and banana with raisin, plum preserves, citrus and apple. The palate is sweet and rich, with dried fruit, milk chocolate, clove, ginger and cinnamon, leading to a long, gently spicy finish.
