Kavalan – LÁN Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Kavalan LÁN is a single malt from Taiwan, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is named as a tribute to Yilan, the home of the distillery, and the name also refers to the Chinese character for orchid. The whisky combines bourbon barrels, port casks and Vinho wine casks that have been shaved, toasted and recharred under the distillery's STR technique. The colour is deep amber. Orchid, rose, jasmine, peony and orange blossom meet creamy vanilla, chocolate, caramel, honeydew melon and fruit gummies on the nose. The palate is floral and fruity with creamy, chocolatey notes, and the finish is nutty and cinnamon-woody.
