Kavalan – Master's Select Reserve II (1L, 40%)

Kavalan Master's Select Reserve II is a Taiwanese single malt from the Kavalan distillery in Yilan, in a 1 litre bottle at 40%. It is chill-filtered and has no added colouring. It is matured in STR casks, where the wood has been shaved, toasted and re-charred. The malt is lightly peated, which adds a soft thread of smoke. The nose has ripe cherries, red dates, longan and dark berries, with nut and oak spice. The palate brings creamy caramel and vanilla, roasted nuts, berry sweetness and gentle smoke. The finish is lasting, with orange, oak and subtle spice.
