Kavalan Moscatel Sherry Cask is a Taiwanese single malt matured in Moscatel sherry casks and bottled at 55.6% ABV in a 750ml bottle. Kavalan credits the combination of Moscatel casks, its new make spirit and the subtropical heat of its home for the quality of the maturation. The whisky has a deep ruby colour.
The nose recalls fruit jam on brownie cake, with floral notes, honey and sweetness, and toffee and caramel in the background. The palate is of dry fruit and nuts, silky, buttery and creamy, with chocolate notes.
