Kavalan – Oloroso Sherry Oak Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 46%)

This is a Taiwanese single malt from Kavalan, matured in Oloroso sherry oak and bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It keeps the main aroma and flavour traits of the sherry expression in the distillery's Solist range, with a spicy, refined character. It opens rich and generous, with dried fruit and walnut and a little fine wood dust. Apricot and date sit beside raspberry and redcurrant rancio notes, star anise and cardamom, honeysuckle and lime blossom. Dark chocolate, very ripe mango and grilled walnuts complete a complex picture.
