Kavalan – Peatist Ex Bourbon Cask (70cl, 54%)

Kavalan Peatist Ex Bourbon Cask is a Taiwanese single malt made from peated malt, bottled by the Kavalan distillery in Yilan at 54% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It matured in a single American ex-bourbon cask, in the warm, humid conditions of a subtropical climate. The whisky has its natural colour and is not chill-filtered. The nose opens with restrained peat smoke, leaving room for mango, banana and longan, with coconut cream, vanilla and honey. On the palate, creamy vanilla, vanilla cake, coconut and mango meet warm oak, peat spice and cocoa. The finish is long, with vanilla, lingering peat smoke and dark cocoa.
