This is a Taiwanese single malt from Kavalan, distilled from peated malt and matured in Oloroso sherry casks from Spain's Sherry Triangle. It is bottled at natural cask strength, 50% ABV, without chill filtration and with natural colour.
The nose pairs peat smoke with pineapple, mango, buttery toffee, charcoal-roasted plums and raisins. The palate is full-bodied, with citrus, dried pineapple and mango, black dates and candied plums alongside earthy peat, cinnamon, cloves and oak.
The finish is long, with dark chocolate, roasted coffee, toasted nuts and smoky oak.
