Kavalan – Sherry Oak (70cl, 46%)

Kavalan Sherry Oak is a Taiwanese whisky from the Yilan distillery, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It matures in selected Spanish first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled from batches of casks of roughly four to six years old, and sits between Kavalan's entry-level bottlings and the cask-strength Solist range. The nose is clean and complex, with dried fruits, nuts and spice and a hint of vanilla. The palate is rich and smooth, with pleasant fruit, spice and coffee. The finish is long, warming and fruity, with very spicy oak.
