This is an eight-year-old Kavalan Solist from Taiwan, matured in an ex-bourbon cask and bottled at 56.3% in a 700ml bottle. It belongs to the Itinéraries Collection and has a topaz colour.
The nose opens with bourbon vanilla, saffron, nutmeg, almond paste, pear and apple, then moves towards banana, pineapple, cedar and pine with a little air. On the palate come malt, iris butter, lime blossom honey, and later peach and apricot. The finish is long, with vanilla, cocoa, ginger, saffron, clove, cinnamon and a touch of grapefruit.
