Kavalan Solist Madeira Cask is a single malt from Taiwan, matured in a former Madeira cask. It is bottled at a cask strength of 57.1% in a 70cl bottle, uncoloured and unfiltered, with 213 bottles filled.
The nose is fresh cherries, grapes and apples with a touch of honey and cinnamon, and vanilla behind. The palate opens with rich melon and apricot, then intense fig, jam and grape, underpinned by white pepper and cinnamon, before turning to sweet toffee and honey. The finish is strong and long.
