Kavalan – Solist Manzanilla Sherry Single Cask Strength Single Malt (75cl, 50%)

This is a single cask strength single malt from Kavalan's Solist range, bottled at 50% in a 75cl bottle. It was matured in a Manzanilla sherry cask. Manzanilla is close to Fino sherry but is made by the sea, where conditions suit the growth of flor. The maturation matches that of the Kavalan Fino, though the texture here is lighter and more delicate, with a touch of saltiness and mineral flavours. The nose shows honeydew melon, toffee and cocoa. The palate is balanced and lightly salty, with plenty of sweetness and vanilla, and orange, melon and mint. The finish recalls cider, with a coastal, light saltiness.
