Kavalan – Solist Port Cask 9 Years 2014 Single Cask Strength New Vibrations (70cl, 57.8%)

A nine-year-old single malt from Kavalan in Taiwan, bottled from a single port cask at a cask strength of 57.8% in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to the New Vibrations edition. This version matured in one of the distillery's older warehouses. In Taiwan's hot, humid subtropical climate, temperatures inside the warehouses can reach 42°C and the angel's share can run to 12% per year. At the end of 2022 Kavalan opened a third, ventilated concrete warehouse, larger than the two earlier five-storey buildings combined.
