Kavalan Solist Port Cask (70cl, 57.8%)

Kavalan Solist Port Cask is a single malt from the King Car Kavalan Distillery in Yilan, Taiwan. It matures entirely in selected first-fill port casks and is bottled at a cask strength of 57.8%, with natural colour and no chill-filtration. The port maturity gives a rich, fruity and sweet character, with plum, strawberry and blackberry ahead of dark chocolate. Orange and other citrus, dried fruit, raisins, nuts and gentle oak spice widen the picture. The nose combines ripe fruit and nutty tones with orange and soft oak spice. The palate meets full fruit and natural sweetness with dark chocolate, in a soft, full texture. The finish is long and pleasant, fruity and chocolatey.
