Kavalan – Solist Sherry Cask Single Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky (70cl)

This is a single cask strength malt from Kavalan's Solist range, aged in Oloroso sherry casks in a 70cl bottle. The distillery uses spring water from the Hsuehshan mountains, whose name means mountains of snow. Solist bottlings are made straight from the barrel, without reduction, cold filtration or added colour. Six years of maturation in a hot, humid subtropical climate give it the character of a much older Speyside whisky, with rich, exotic and complex notes. It was voted Best Rest of the World Single Malt at the 2011 World Whiskey Awards.
