Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique is a single cask, cask strength single malt from Taiwan, bottled in 2015 at 57.8% ABV. This is bottle 204 of 255.
The whisky matured fully in used American oak wine barrels, toasted and recharred, which had held both red and white wines. It is a deep autumn gold.
The nose offers vanilla and caramelised sugars with dark chocolate, ripe melon, mango, kiwi and citrus, with pepper in the background. The palate is clean and complex, with a long aftertaste.
