Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique is a single cask Taiwanese single malt bottled at 57.1% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured fully in used American oak wine barrels that were toasted and recharred, which brings fruity vanilla notes from the wood.
The colour is a deep autumn gold. The nose offers pepper, spice, dates, ripe melon, mango, kiwi and citrus. The palate is rich with vanilla and caramelised sugar, topped with dark chocolate, and the fruit and a background of pepper follow. The finish is long, clean and complex.
