Kavalan – Solist Virgin Oak Team Canada R (70cl)

Kavalan Solist Virgin Oak Team Canada R is a single cask strength single malt from the Kavalan distillery in Yilan County, Taiwan, in a 70cl bottle. It is a single-cask selection made for the Canadian market, and the letter R refers to the barrel allocation within the release. The whisky was matured in a new virgin oak cask. Yilan's subtropical climate speeds the exchange between wood and spirit. The nose is typically described as smoked plum, purple grapes, buttery vanilla and beeswax, with apricot and honeyed peach. On the palate come honey, autumn pear, roasted chestnuts and ripe guava, with cinnamon and a little oak spice. The finish is long, with tropical fruit and cinnamon warmth.
