Kavalan – Triple Sherry Cask (70cl, 40%)

Kavalan Triple Sherry Cask is a Taiwanese single malt from the Kavalan Distillery in Yilan, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The whisky is a vatting from oloroso, Pedro Ximénez and Moscatel sherry casks. Oloroso adds nuttiness and structure, Pedro Ximénez a dense dried-fruit sweetness, and Moscatel a bright, aromatic fruitiness. The nose is ripe berries, pale grapes and citrus with chocolate brownie, toffee, rosemary, cinnamon and oak. The palate is velvety sherry fruit, candied fruit, caramel, honey and malt sugar with tropical touches. The finish is long and balanced, with fruity spice and a lively citrus echo.
