Kavalan Triple Sherry Cask is a Taiwanese single malt bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle, presented in a gift box. It is matured in three kinds of sherry cask: Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez and Moscatel.
It is made at the Yuan Shan distillery, also known as the King Car Kavalan Distillery, from malted barley brought in from Scotland. The distillery uses unusually early cut points, which gives a sweet character.
The dried fruit of the Oloroso leads the flavour, with rich caramel and malt sugar sweetness layered over the distillery's tropical fruit.
