Kentucky Owl Dry State is a Kentucky straight bourbon marking the 100th anniversary of Prohibition, which began in the United States on 17 January 1920. It is bottled at 50% (100 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
The blend is drawn from Kentucky Owl's oldest casks, aged 12 to 17 years, and was assembled by Dixon Dedman, who revived the brand. Only 2,000 bottles were filled, each individually numbered and signed by Dedman, and each comes in a wooden presentation box.
The nose offers spice cake, toasted oak, caramel corn, brown sugar and a hint of elderflower. The palate has s'mores, orange zest, chewy caramel and golden syrup, and the finish is long and coating, with toasted oak, caramel and gentle pepper.
