KI ONE Tiger Single Malt (70cl, 46%)

KI ONE Tiger is a Korean single malt from the KI ONE Distillery in Namyangju, in a 70cl bottle at 46%. It is matured in sherry and wine casks and is neither chill-filtered nor coloured. The distillery was founded in 2020 on the slopes of Baekbongsan and describes itself as South Korea's first single malt distillery. Its warehouse falls to -25°C in winter and passes 35°C in summer, and the wood's expansion and contraction keeps the spirit in close contact with the casks. Tasting notes describe ripe fruit, honey and oak on the nose, and caramel and butterscotch with raisin and nutmeg on the palate. The finish brings apple, plum, strong oak and eastern spices.
