Kilchoman Family Collection 18 Year Old is an Islay single malt, the first edition of the Family Collection, matured for the full eighteen years in ex-bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill filtered and of natural colour.
The casks were chosen by the founding Wills family during their annual review of maturing stock. The barley is heavily peated, at around 50 ppm, and comes from Port Ellen Maltings.
The nose has soft peat smoke, vanilla, honey and citrus. The palate brings vanilla, honey and fruit against pepper and oak, and the finish is long, with peat smoke, oak spice and a light coastal note.
